Yearbook Printing

A When creating yearbook files, ensure there is enough space to between copy, photos, and the edge of the paper. Photos, backgrounds etc. can “bleed” off the edge, but if you have information or images you don’t want cut off, leave at least 1/4” to 1/2” between them and the paper edge.

Also, if setting up a center spread with an image, remember the middle will get pulled slightly into the binding, so try to avoid having faces or important text in this area. You can compensate for that by adding a quarter inch of duplication in the middle. If you have questions, our customer service team is happy to assist.

A 48 Hour Books can print color yearbooks as well as black and white yearbooks. We can also do a combination of both color and black and white. If you want to do a combination, you don’t need to consolidate all the pages using color in one section in the book. We can alternate color and black and white throughout the yearbook.

A For a hardcover yearbook, 48 Hour Books recommends our standard 100 lb. gloss text cover, with a high-gloss laminate or matte laminate coating. For paperback or softcover yearbook covers, we recommend a 10 pt. cover with high-gloss or matte laminate coating.

For inside pages of yearbooks, we recommend a coated paper (since most yearbooks are photo heavy), like our 80 lb. or 100 lb. silk or gloss text.
